ok, so anyway, tax return check came today which means within 6 weeks i will own my truck (as soon as i get the title back to it) whoo hoo!! Anyway, picking up an assload of trades ive been meaning to get with some of the tax money. Going out of town this weekend to go visit Mom, Don, The kids, Grandma, Grandpa etc. We are going to my favorite mexican restaurant in the whole wide world Henry's! Henry's rocks. I'll be fixing up computers while im down there (of course, i swear i have no clue what these people do to their machines)

Got in touch with an old friend from the ragradio days of my life (or had it switched to freeradio at the time, im not entirely sure) Its good to talk to old friends. Im glad i emailed her.

Thats all i got for now. OH! almost forgot, since the tax return is in today i'm going to be ordering the season tickets to Scarborough Faire YAY!!

Personally, got sent home from work today, had to use some sick time for it, sucks but i got a free day off. I need to keep this thing more updated. Found out we are getting back $3000+ on our taxes this year. that rocks! but most of it is going to pay off my truck with a bit left over for a nice dinner for me and the wife and some money to do with as we please (maybe $50 each if dinner is inexpensive.)

Today was a blah day. got caught up on JLU episodes this morning. watched a few Teen Titans episodes i hadn't seen before. Went to half price books and picked up a reprint of the 4 death in the family issues from Batman, will take it with me to read at work tommorow. Didn't put it on here but i have started reading the last book in the dark tower series at work recently. im just barely into it though and i've just gotten done reading through the entires Dark Tower series except for this last book and im starting to get really bored with Kings writing. Happens sometimes, i just get bored with a writer if i read too much stuff in a row from him. Oh went out yesterday to frys and found a great deal on some dvd+r's. i ended up getting 50 for around $22. really great deal. watched mean girls again last night, getting Saw now for viewing next weekend. I think that about covers it.

Kenny came over around 11 and we played halo 2 until somewhere around 1:30, had a great time. Kenny got a little bit excited when he was allowed to talk on the mic to the other players (we were on xbox live) and kept yelling something about "come get some nasty" we are not entirely sure what that meant, but when Kenny yelled it he played better so it all worked out well. Went to sleep somewhere around 3 am or a bit after, after i had read some of the recent comics i downloaded. (completely legally of course ;) ) Anyway, thats all i got for now, cover of the week later in the day, shower in a few mins.

To David who left a message below, bite me. What i do with my free time is my buisness and i happen to not mind doing cover of the week, if you want to complain about how i do it, do it on the thread, not here. besides im the only person who will ever see it here. beyond that i don't have to do it, i enjoy it, but if you want your vote to count you have to follow the rules. Yes it is time consuming but i also like to spend time with my wife doing nothing, and time i spend working on the poll is time i don't get to spend with her. you can't take 30 seconds to read through the rules and follow them you don't deserve to have your vote counted. btw nice of you to not leave a way for me to get in touch with you about it. so like i said, bite me. :)

Anyway, not much going on this week, been mostly hanging out and posting on newsarama, finally got all the dvd's we got earlier in the month watched, burning shark tale right now so we can watch that. figured i would update here. Emily was hanging out last night, and tonight, she's not so bad but can get old after a bit. hopefully shes not staying the night tonight and i already heard her say she had something to do tommorow so i don't have to worry about that. Comis this week were good, LOSH was the best! all 1 persons who read my blog should be reading it. oh wait i already am. :) more later tonight maybe.

I've just been busy lately, mostly with watching dvd's that were acquired with Christmas money. As i posted below, Smallville was a great show! I think i've found 1 to equal it, i've just recently discovered The OC, i downloaded season 1 dvd's and that show is so damn addictive. Emily came over and the 3 of us sat up watching it from Friday night into Saturday morning, we were up until 7am watching the show. We finally went to bed, got up around 1pm and resumed watching it, finally finishing about midnight saturday night-sunday morning. its that good, ive also been working on downloading season 2 so far (not much luck there, anyone happen to know any torrents for episodes 4,5,6 let me know :)

Also picked up the X-Files season 1 new for only $50 (normally $100) apparently suncoast is selling all their season 1 stuff for 50% off, get you addicted to a show then spend the higher money on season 2. Works been crappy as normal, but what can i do. Got tommorow off cause im working saturday, sucks, oh well. Really thats all thats going on. Comic day tommorow!! yay!!

3 seasons of smallville in just over a week and God help me i loved every minuite of it. This has got to be the best TV show i have seen in years. Wait no thats Sopranos, this is second best. Not alot going on this week, was off of work yesterday simply because i wanted to be and it was nice. Got off early today but not too early, tommorow is comic book day which means i need to do my list of what im getting tommorow AND my pre-order for March is due in tommorow as well. I've decided to drop the Aftermath books im getting, they just aren't intresting me all that much, and I've made the DC books im going to be picking up much heavier. Much much heavier. I think im only getting something like 5 things that are non-DC, if even that many. Oh how my tastes have changed. Well i think thats it for tonight, i will be writing in here more often now since Smallville is over, but then there is that season 1 of x-files we picked up... It was a really good deal, 50% off since it was the first season, i've never been into that show but i guess i can give it a try, and then there's that season 1 of The OC i downloaded that i still need to burn and watch.

Haven't forgotten about the blog. been watching Smallville non-stop since we picked up season 1. got season 2 (in the middle of it now) and season 3 to watch. damn show's more addictive than crack. back after this week when i run out of smallville to watch. Hell haven't even posted much on the boards, just done cover of the week stuff and a few token posts here and there. this is probably the longest thing ive typed since i got the shows.

Allright this will be really quick
Batman #635- First red hood issue. Batman fights red hood, red hood rips off Batmans mask, and then rips off his own mask to Bruce's look of shock/horror, we don't get to see who red hood is. Flash back 5 weeks earlier Alfred lamenting on how much things have changed around since the end of War Games. Wayne Industries R&D section (Kord Corporation) has been taken over by a German holding company, Bruce is pissed. Flip to red hood taking over all the drug trade in Gotham but telling the dealers to stay away from schools. Speculation as to who red hood is? i have no idea but i can't wait to find out. Absolutely loved this book and the next issue can't come out too quickly.
Walking Dead #14- loved the book this week. no summary, but a great great story.
Invincible #18- Mark travels to Mars with the astronauts for their first trip there, has to rescue them after they get taken captive by the martians. Another great self contained Kirkman story, builds on past plot points, establishes new ones

been feeling alot better lately, voice started going at the end of the day but was actually able to complete a whole day of work. Just got finished reading dark tower book 3, started on 4. (read them both before but re-reading them since i got the new books for Christmas. Had Christmas with Kara last night, got a Monty Python and the holy grail dvd (rock!) we watched it last night. Picked up my comics today (odviously) Enjoyed the hell out of them and i still have 2 to read tommorow (both the Ultimate titles.) *sigh* there's never enough time on wed.

got a $50 gift card to best buy today at work, went and got Smallville season 1 with it. No time to start watching tonight, and finally after about a week finished downloading The OC season 1 (lets hope its as good as everyone says.) Wow i got alot of entertainment lined up. Still need to finish watching batman animated series vol. 1 before vol. 2 comes out in january. I HAVE NO TIME lol. ok im done for tonight. Ed if you happen to read this, hope your feeling better :) time to go post on newsarama some more, and to the guy who said Walking Dead and Invinceble were crap Fuck you, you have no taste my friend. ;)

Christmas is over (almost) finally

Wow, its here, its done, and im happy. Got a bunch of stuff, listed below, gave a bunch of stuff, which rocked. And now its over and i don't have to exert myself for a whole nother 11 months or so. (Thanksgiving will be here again before you know it, ugg) After its all said and done, it was a good time, with good friends and family, and i don't mind it so much, heh, 12 hours ago i would have told you you were crazy if you said i was going to say that.

New years is next, nothing special there except its almost time to get tax returns back yippee!! Soon as i get that, i get my truck paid off and all is well in the world.

I think im getting sick, ive got a sore throat (little bit) and a stuffy nose (also little bit) but i hope it doesn't get worse. i seriously cannot afford to miss any work.

Hope anyone and everyone had a Merry Christmas, and i'll say "Thank God its over." now time to read some Stephen King and finish out that Dark Tower series. (rock!)

Also almost forgot what the almost is about above. Still have to give Kara and George their gifts, and they have some for us, but seriously if they would just come and get their gifts i wouldn't even need to get mine, mine could be the fact that this holiday season is over.

Oh i wish i could open those Hush figures, but i have no shelf space for them right now. :( As soon as i get some new shelves i will be putting them up and posting pictures of the whole lot. :D

Also as to what i thought of GL Rebirth with the parallax thing, i didn't think it was bad at all, i enjoyed the story very much and i enjoyed the way they were able to bring continuity into it with the yellow and all. As for the last ring that was made, it didn't get its power from the central battery anymore since the central battery no longer existed there was no problems with yellow.

First you have to get in the passenger seat of the warthog, then you have to press and hold the white and black button, then when you exit the warthog you have to hold up on the D-pad and continue to hold up until your screen starts to shake. Once your screen is shaking then you know that you've accomplished the dummying, at this point you can wonder around the board invisable and invincible. This works really well on slayer because you can't be killed but you can do a lot of killing.

It snowed yesterday while i was off of work. very cool. played with the dog in the snow. Came home tonight and the wife gave me my Christmas Present, or should i say Presents! It was an unopened case of Hush wave 2! i will post pictures shortly. :D And i will add this stuff to the list of stuff i got for Christmas.

Today was very chill, read a few downloaded comics, will be going to bed soon. Merry Christmas and shit. :)

POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Ultra #5- week late getting it, but I thought it was a good issue. Ultra finds out her boyfriend sold pictures of her and him in bed together to a tabloid. She gets extremely upset about this and ends up seeing a cop murdered in front of her as a result of her inaction. She then goes on to have lunch with Jen who says she found out what the fortune teller meant from the first issue. Jen then kisses Ultra and the book ends there. Can't wait to find out how Ultra will react.
100 Girls #1 & 2- really late getting these. we are introduced to Sylvia the main charater who is having weird ass dreams about other girls who look like her. We find out her foster mom doesnt like her very much and her foster dad seems to be the one who really wanted her. after breaking a girls arm at her school she ends up runnin away becuase of being yelled at by her parents. After she runs away the black ring people pick her up, and it turns out they have 100 other girls that look just like her. They all seem to have special powers and Sylvia's powers are that she is super strong and agile. #2 starts us with Sylvia getting help from another girl who looks just like her, they beat down the agents that were following Sylvia and then go hide out in an old abandoned warehouse. Once there the other girl dies and somehow gets implanted in Sylvias mind, and the comic pretty much ends there. I like this book alot as you can see since i typed so damn much about the story.
Defex #3-Mia has cancer, her parents died from it, her blood type has changed. Tristan gets his memory unblocked, or whatever and has become less like an animal and more like a man. The other students go and hunt down Tristan psychically, and break into the place of the agency that caused all of them to mutate or whatever they are calling it. They get in a fight there with another creature like Tristan but with the mental block still in place so he's acting like an animal. The head Dr. at this project lets them escape. I like where this story is going but i really do need to go back and read 1 & 2 to get a better understanding of it. I realise they are trying to make these comics less compressed than alot of stories from the big 2, but its result is a loss of charaterzation, as theres not many of these charaters i really care about yet, but still its a good story.
The Authority Revolution #3- was barely able to finish this story, i kept getting up in the middle of it to go do other things. Really not digging this series at all.
Green Lantern Rebirth #3- Flashback city. Turns out Parallax (sp?) was something form the beginning of time, something yellow at that, that the Guardians trapped inside the main power battery on OA. Well it turns out Sinestro was also trapped in this battery (as read in the Emrald Twilight TPB i posted on earlier this week) apparently Sinestro woke up Parallax, and used him to taint Hal Jordan. Parallax was a yellow creature thus explaining why the GL rings always had a problem with the color yellow. Parallax and The Spectre and Hal are all arguing over his body and who's a part of whom. At the end, Sinestro shows back up.
Green Arrow #45- Enter Speedy (apparently GA's side kick? sounds more like a flash side kick, but i digress) I will just have to call her Speedy since i actually just looked and can't find her name anywhere in it. Speedy starts off the story with a sermon to her classmates on AIDS. felt like i was reading a pamplet on it, anyway, GA kicks Brick's ass with a Super Glue Arrow, and at the end the girl becomes Speedy with GA's approval.
Manhunter #5- Kate opens the story using her new suit in an old west town mock up, then goes to visit her kid at the hospital (she is the reason he is there) and finds out theres a temp. restraining order against her. the JLA comes in to meet her as her job as Fedral Prosecuter letting her know they will be looking for Shadow Theif who killed Fire Storm. Forgot to say earlier that in the new suit she has there was some built in light thingys that would allow her to hurt shadow theif. Anyway she goes and finds him and gives him an ass whipping and then the JLA show up and she decides she won't kill him there she will prosecute him in court and ask for the death penalty. I've been reading and enjoying this book for a few months now, and i really do like it and the IDC tie in was nice.
Teen Titans GO!- ugg, total and complete crap. im sure the kids love it, but not for me.
Ultimate Elektra #5- End of the series, Elektra kicks bullseyes ass and fixes everything by giving Fisk back the ledger. Of course Matt is disapointed in her. The series was OK and i will get the trade, but it wasn't great like alot of ultimate stuff is.
Astonishing X-Men #7- Wing took the mutant cure and is having problems with not being able to fly anymore. Kills himself by the end of the book. GREAT team up between the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, there were so many great moments. Collosus wind surfing on top of the x jet. Emma making comments like "I positively throb when he gets that tone" (talking about Cyclops ordering people around) and Kitty saying "Your not saying that would be nifty". and then later on in the book Emma: J. Jonah Jameson'll be tounge kissing Spider-Man before the X-Men catch a little public favor" and kitty saying "why do you insist on saying things i can never un-hear". those were great, and then you have the scene when you get to see what the x-men are thinking while they are fighting the monster. Colussus going on about how much Scott has changed and how he is diffrent from Prof. X. Kitty thinking about how she might be coming on too strong to Collosus. and then wolverine's thought. "I really like Beer". It was classic. One last moment and then i will stop gushing over this book like a school girl. The Thing says to Wolverine: Didn't they come up with a cure for your kind (meaning to imply the mutant cure from an earlier issue) and Wolverine says You got a problem with Mutants? and then Thing says I meant Canadians. I was bawling with laughter. by far the best book of the week.

Was tempted to pick up a near complete run of Fables, but decided i might find cheaper prices at a Comicon. Came home and that was about it.

The Long Halloween

Read it today while i was at work, i wasn't terribly impressed although it wasn't a bad story. Got to see the origin of 2 face, don't know that i've ever read it before. Don't think i will be picking any other bat books up by loeb and sale. The dialog wasn't great, and the art was ok at best.

My grandpa is supposed to be in town tonight, still haven't heard anything from him yet so we shall see if he shows up. I would almost rather he didn't. Don't get me wrong, i dont mind seeing him, but there is just so much shit that we have to do around here its unreal.

May go play halo2 for a bit.

It was excelent. Very 1984-ish, and i love stories like that. Here's a description of it i found from midtown comics:

ugg, last nights party was good until the end. The wife ended up drinking a whole bottle of Bailey's and then promptly puked most of it up on the way home. Then when we got home she puked a couple of more times. Then today she's puked at least once. The party was cool, but nothing spectacular happened, no one dancing naked on the tables or anything like that. Highlight of the night was playing Taboo where someone gave the clue of "There was a war here in the 90's" and i said "Bosnia" based on that one clue and got it. I myself found out how good Pine-Orange juice can be with malibu. mmmmm tasty. Before we started drinking in the hotel room we went to some sports bar and someone had the good idea to sit outside in 40 degree weather. brrrr but at least there were heaters out on the porch, i had some cheesy fries and chips and queso while we were there, but no alcohol (way too expensive).

An excellent blog I've found comparing CNN to Fox in terms of biasedness.

I intend to periodically compare/ananlyze news stories from both sources as they appear on their web sites. Liberals claim Fox is conservatively biased and conservatives claim CNN is liberally biased. My point is to show that there is always bias just by choices on stories, headlines, timing, etc. I'm hoping this will show that it is important to read multiple sources. Of course, you should not accept my bias either and check things out for yourself.

Bare Naked Ladies Christmas

Worked today till about 12:00, then got off early, went to the comic store and spent way more than i should have. Got Green Lantern (Emrald Dawn i think) and Batman Long Halloween, both which came highly reccomended. Came home and putted around on the internet. Posted alot in the gay thread. No really, go read it, its funny. Went to the mall, walked around and picked up Bare Naked Ladies Christmas album. It's ok, not great, its got a dradle son on there thats pretty good. Doing laundry right now because the wife just absolutely insisted it MUST be done tonight. She is supposed to shave my head tonight AND she is doing some school work, AND she thinks we have time to get all this shit done before bed, and its not gonna happen. Oh well. We will just be to bed late and i will be grouchy as hell in the morning. Positive side Kara's graduation party tommorow night. I'm getting TRASHED. Start with some Boone's and then onto the Jack. :D

Today we went and finished up the last of our Christmas shopping, we got Grandpa Ronnie a couple of camo T-Shirts that he likes and a sign that says "Parking for hunters only, all others will be shot". I think he will like it. I also picked myself up a batman t-shirt. Its so hard to find comic related t-shirts for a fat ass like me, so i pick them up when i see them. I like it and it fits well. Kara's graduation party is day after tommorow and she has rented a suite at the Anitole, I'm so getting trashed and puking in a swanky hotel like that. :D IDC #7 came out yesterday, i wrote about it yesterday but the stupid blog ate my post, i enjoyed it but it kind of seemed anti-climatic, and wtf was she doing with the flame thrower there in the first place?

Ex Machina #7, weird shit with the symbol, chick stabs her eye out, German agents invading Mayor Hundreds apt.
Ult Spidey #70, weird shit with Doc Strange and dreams or something. MJ looks hot, i don't care if she's only supposed to be 15, they don't draw her looking like a 15 year old, more like 25.
Ocean #3, a warren ellis exercise in decompression. good story though.
Birds Of PRey #77 going after some harvester person who kills people who got away with Murder. probably a meta-human, but who knows. Find out next month.
Batman Gotham Knights #60, so Hush really isn't Thomas Elliot, Hush has Thomas Elliot locked up in a room somewhere.. very interesting.. Hush kidnaps Alfred, batman gets Alfred back Alfred forgets he saw Thomas Elliot. Story ends there, i think.
Catwoman 38, some wooden nickel guy or some shit. kinda confusing, 3 peice suit, blah blah, good charaterzation issue, but im not sure where the hell its going.
Robin #133, UGG the art is HORRIBLE, beyond that good story, Penguin taking bets on who will win in a fight between Robin and Batgirl. Story concluding in 2 weeks. Robin and Batgirl sittin in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g... you get the idea.
Thats it for comics yesterday. short and sweet. maybe i will keep this up, who knows.

well, i have odviously been neglecting my blog, hopefully that stops tonight. Latest stuff on me, i am tired of christmas. It needs to be over NOW. at least most of the shopping is done (still have to get for 1 more person) and all thats left is family crap.

Now the best part! new toys!
We now have an almost complete line of American McGee's Alice figures.
I've got all 4 of the contemporary Teen Titans figures, with plans to get the next 4 in January.
We have a near complete set of the DC barbies, the only one we are lacking right now is batgirl on the batcycle, and that should be here from amazon by the end of the week.
Spiderman Sinister Six box set was picked up on Sunday along with the above mentioned poison ivy doll.

That covers the major stuff. new comic day is tommorow, finally the last IDC, cant wait to read that, otherwise a slow comic day.
